Toca Boca is designed with the child at the core, truly involving the child in the entire design process. The reason for this is that Toca Boca believes that as adults designers have largely outgrown the logic of children's thinking and the criteria for likes and dislikes. For example, the design team asked a group of children to play with a toy dollhouse to see what makes the children excited. The design team would then use their imagination around that point to create the prototype in the game.　

Bjorn Jeffery, the founder, and CEO of Toca Boca has had success in gaining market share in the old media landscape, and he has applied that experience to the marketing of Toca Boca games. When you do that, you're doing your best to build a really good product.

You will end up relying only on the recognizability of the characters. So the team designed the game characters around the game modes and concepts in each application, rather than revamping the game character set-up to fit the license. This is a very different product design process, which plays to the strengths of Toca Boca Team Design.
